Our team creates contractor job site signs that fit all legal requirements, and can also be customized to match each unique location, such as with NYC job site, road, and work safety notices. Signs House offers a wide selection of high quality constructional signage. For three decades, we’ve been serving areas all over New York and New Jersey and building a reputation for dependably providing rapid turnaround that meets all of your construction signage needs.

What Are Construction Signs?

Construction signs are durable and prominently displayed graphics that communicate important safety information related to various building projects and road work. They are normally made of coroplast, aluminum, or PVC, and can be either handheld for traffic direction, or installed on a construction fence, pole or building frame. Safety signs need to be clear, bright and often have to use regulation colors, size fonts and letter sizes, which is why it’s important to seek out an experienced sign maker — whether for stock “off the rack” construction signs or custom construction signs — rather than try to cut corners at your local discount store.

Why it’s Necessary to Use Construction Signs?

Construction and road safety signs are not only legally mandated, but also an investment that helps protect workers, pedestrians, and drivers from work area hazards by giving them a clear warning before they encounter any potential dangers. They allow work materials and equipment to be more efficiently unloaded, moved, or set up. Construction signs can also be conducive to convenience for the public, by preventing unnecessary traffic jams and pattern disruptions — such as with Road Closed signs which keep drivers from driving down a dead-end street — only to have to turn back around. Other types of required NYC construction signage, such as building site signs that feature an information panel including architectural drawings; can also be a great way to promote your organization or construction firm, as well as your client’s dream project

Any time you’re taking on a new construction job, you’re going to need high quality, durable signs that will capture people’s attention and ensure that they are informed of what is going on around them. Signs House One  can create all of these signs, including:

We create DOT signs that can be used and reused as needed, along with all types of work in progress signs, NYC DOB Signs, OSHA approved signs, commercial signs, residential signs, and more. We have multiple colors and styles available, as well as shapes that will get you noticed. We can also make sure that your signs are created with tough, high-grade material that can withstand the elements or be visible under low lighting as needed.

We know how crucial these signs can be for the safety of you, your workers, and those around a work area, so we make sure that our signs are durable, well made, and capable of withstanding whatever your NYC or New Jersey area construction site or the weather might throw at it. Construction Sign Colors and Their Meanings

  • Yellow – From traffic lights to street safety signs, yellow is a signal to drivers to slow down and be prepared to stop. Fluorescent yellow is often used in school zones for added visibility.

  • Green – Green is universally used as a signal to go. It is often used as informational or geographic directional signs (as in NYC 80 miles) on roads and highways.

  • Red – Red, most well known as a signal to stop or to show danger, is also used along with white in other regulatory signs, such as Yield and Do Not Enter signs.

  • Blue – Blue is often used to announce the presence of emergency health care facilities such as hospitals. Blue signs can also indicate private roads.

  • Orange – Orange is probably the most common color for Area Under Construction and Road Work Ahead signs. Like yellow, it indicates that people should slow down and proceed with caution although, unlike yellow — they shouldn’t necessarily be prepared to come to a sudden stop.
