Wide Format Graphics Printing

In a time when advertisements seem to be everywhere you turn, the biggest challenge for a business trying to get their name out there in a way that stands out and creates a real impact on those that view it. Making the physically large is perhaps the best way to do this. All the banners and flyers and signs that fill the modern person’s sightline can be metaphorically and literally overshadowed by a large printed banner or other type of custom sign.

We offer a variety of large format printed signs, made of different materials and for different purposes. Since they are meant to be easily viewed even from a distance, they typically have a simpler design and not too much text. They can be displayed on walls, windows, barriers, and more, or be supported by a frame or structure of some kind.

If you’d like your business to stand out from the competition, contact Signs House One about large format printing. There’s no better sign manufacturer when it comes to creating big banners look great no matter how close or far away you are from them.

What Is Large Format Printing?

Large format printing, sometimes called wide format printing, is a term that refers to signs that extend beyond what regular commercial printing presses are capable of producing with most common equipment. Large format printing in NYC is only possible when a company has a specialized press and printing equipment that can produce banners and other signs with oversized dimensions.

Signs House One has several wide format printing devices. Not only are our presses able to print big signs and banners, but the images they print have a crisp, detailed resolution without imperfections like blurring or low-quality resolution.

Many industries make use of large printed signs, with billboards, banners, and more. These signs can broadcast temporary or evergreen events and information, such as:

  • Concerts

  • Events

  • Business Location and Contact Information

  • Public Service Announcements

  • Store Openings

  • Movie Releases

If you want your business, product, message, or event to be noticed quickly and easily, a big sign will accomplish that for you. A quality design will keep your potential customers’ attention, but the high impact of a large sign will grab it in the first place.

Large Graphics Printing and Mounting Services

We provide several different types of large format printing. The most common large format printed signs we provide are usually banners, designed flat, and meant to be hung on a wall, window, or another flat surface.

However, banner stands and backdrops that are free-standing or able to be easily folded and transported are also ordered frequently for trade shows, storefronts, special event photo areas, and other areas where a poster is too small, but the display area isn’t large enough for a huge banner. We can also create vehicle wraps – a type of vinyl print that is shaped to easily cling to cars and trucks.

Some of the most common types of large format printed signs we provide include:

  • Backdrops – Also called “step and repeat banners,” these are commonly seen at red carpet events as backgrounds for photo opportunities that feature repeating logos or images promoting a product or the event. They can also serve as scenic or fun photo backgrounds for birthday parties, company events, family portraits, and more.

  • Banner Stands – Retractable and non-retractable stands can be used to display banners that are typically taller than they are wide and are used to represent a company at a trade show, a storefront, or another area where there are limited space and high levels of foot traffic expected. Carrying cases can also be included for increased portability.

  • Barricade Wraps – Construction sites inside shopping malls, around big cities, and other areas with high levels of foot traffic need barriers to prevent people from walking where they shouldn’t and risking injury. With a barricade wrap, these blank barriers can be turned into an advertising opportunity, getting potential customers excited for the opening date of whatever is being constructed.

  • Vinyl Banners – These signs are the ultimate versatile sign. Durable, flexible, customizable for almost any occasion, large vinyl banners are also affordable and easy to install wherever you need them.

  • Wall Murals – Large blank walls are a missed opportunity to reach out to potential customers or add decoration and enhance the appearance of your space. Useful for both professional and personal environments, these large decals can be used in place of more permanent, costly, or time-consuming options like painting or wallpaper, and they don’t damage the wall they’re installed on.

  • Window wraps – If your storefront or property for sale or rent has large windows, that’s another surface to get your message across on. Our window wraps are available in various sizes, finishes, transparencies, and more. They’re perfect for advertising on a grand scale or providing privacy without blocking outside light.

It’s not just these particular types of signs that we can provide large format printing for, however. We offer this specialized, large scale printing for rigid signs as well, made of materials such as:

  • Foam Core

  • Gator Board

  • Acrylic

  • Coroplast

  • Wood

  • Dibond

  • PVC

  • Fabric

  • Glass

  • Metal

Even if you’re not sure if your big sign idea is plausible, contact us. We have extensive experience in sign design and fabrication and provided clients with highly unique and special signs that they would be unable to get anywhere else.

What Features Do Large Format Printed Signs Have?

Not only can we print professional quality images on your large sign or banner, but we can also customize the shape, fabricate it to enhance its longevity in the environment it will be displayed in, and provide any number of other special features to put the finishing touches on it. In order to make sure your large format printed sign looks better for even longer, consider features like:

  • Laminating – Lamination film is added to vinyl banners and paper signs in order to weatherproof it, add stiffness, and make it more resistant to smudges, tears, and other forms of damage.

  • Contour Cutting – A contour cut sign is cut right to the edge of its design. This gives it a more professionally simplified look, as it eliminates excess border or background.

  • CNC Routing – Computer numerical control (CNC) routing machines can produce exactly the custom shapes you want for your sign with precision and accuracy no matter how unusual or complex.

  • Hemming – When your banner is completed, hemming reinforces the edges and gives them a more professional, completed look. It’s accomplished by folding the edges over and then sewing or heat-welding the vinyl material.

  • Seaming – Like hemming, this is a method for creating a strong, reinforced, and consistent finish for your sign’s edges.

  • Grommets – These are holes in a banner’s hem, reinforced with metal so that it can be hung from fixed points. Their placement, usually every two to three feet, can prevent sagging by ensuring the weight is evenly distributed.

  • Pole Pockets – These are created on the edges of the banner by folding the edge over and attaching it to the back of the sign, making sure to include a loop so that a pole can be inserted for display purposes.

In addition to all the above finishing options, we offer custom colors, double-sided printing, pre-cording, and lots of other ways to give you the perfect looking and functioning large format printed sign.
